Green Bean, The Poem by Charlie Bollinger

On the outside you look as green as my science folder
You feel as smooth as a brand new hardcover book from Watchung Booksellers
When I break you, you sound as hard as a brick from Bradford’s wall
When I slice you, you sound as quiet as outer space
Inside you look as disgusting as a fast food restaurant’s dumpster
You smell like my big brother coming home from lacrosse practice
You smell as bad as my mom’s coffee breath
You taste as bad as a cockroach and cicada smoothie
Tell me, Green Bean, why do you taste so bad?
